The Raising a Reader mission is to foster healthy brain development, parent-child bonding, and early literacy skills critical for school success. This is accomplished by engaging parents in a routine of daily "book cuddling" with their children from birth to age five.
Raising a Reader allows families to take home high-quality children's books to facilitate parent and child reading. The program also teaches parents read-aloud strategies and techniques to use while reading with their child. Families get to know and use their local library to further maximize the learning experience for all children involved.
